Site Narrative
This is the site of the backpacking banya erected on the weekend of March 16th 2018. The trip that brought the banya to its final location at Echo Lake was ultimately unsuccessful. The expedition involved a 1500 foot extent over 4.5 miles. It required hauling two cords of wood to heat the banya, is what did this trip in. Without proper training prior to the attempt the team was unable to reach the desired location without supplemental oxygen. While a full on steam did not occur, the Banya was erected on the final site on the second day of the journey. The prototype withstood extreme winds. Generally the trip is considered a success and the banya team looks forward to future steaming attempts. â¤ï¸EG
